Fr. Michael is a native of Baton Rouge. He attended Louisiana State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a concentration in religious studies and a minor in business. Fr. Michael earned a Master of Divinity from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Baton Rouge in 2007, and he currently serves as pastor of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.
People often ask Fr. Michael, “Are you really a priest?” With his crazy socks, curly hair, and genuine joy, he loves life! With a passion for endurance sports, Fr. Michael completed ten marathons and most recently his first full Ironman. These events are part of his personal commitment to maintain a healthy balance of mind, body, and spirit. Never short for a joke, yet always willing to offer a listening ear, Fr. Michael strives to live by his personal creed: make the person in front of you the most important person in your life. He’s known for his ability to make the scripture come alive through his preaching and parish missions, helping others connect their lives to the Word of God.
